Lani Ramones & Family

Almost always, Flickapalooza Photo Booth travels out-of-town only when bundled with a full coverage package, either for a wedding or for corporate events. This time though, the booth traveled over 53 Kilometers from Paranaque to Balay Dako in Tagaytay to bring great awesome snaps to the 50th birthday celebration of Mrs. Lani Ramones.

The farthest we've gone is Legaspi, in Bicol Region, but again, that's because the coverage team had us in tow. Tagaytay, so far, is the farthest we've been as a lone ranger.

If there's what we call "brunch", short for saying breakfast and lunch, there's also a "dunch" as Americans would coin it in their colloquial verbiage. In more formal sources, Macmillan Dictionary uses the word "Linner", short for Lunch and dinner. This celebration was sort of like that. Scheduled between 2pm to 6pm, we hurried to get to the venue to have lunch and do the ingress. We planned to order "Bulalo" (Beef Marrow Stew), unfortunately, the venue was already packed by 11:30AM and we're at queue number 23. We had no choice but to eat a quick lunch to the nearest alternative. The "Bulalo" plan turned to a quick fix meal. But that's what we'd do for our clients, we love our clients. Bulalo can wait another time.

The photo booth rental was up and running ahead of schedule, even though some contingent-troubleshooting needed to be done with the venue's electrical outlets. The celebration was well-attended, despite of the distance of the location from where the guests lived. This is how you can tell people really love you, and Mrs Lani is dearly loved as evidenced by the attendees who celebrated with her.

There was no program, just a quick, heartfelt prayer to kick-off the celebration, and it was chow time! Balay Dako served a sumptuous line-up of savory dishes and desserts at the buffet table, and as all this was happening, we too, started serving some FUNtastic awesome snaps. Here are select samples from the event.

We are artisans of the digital craft, and every photo booth rental includes custom designed layout attuned to the theme and color motif of the event. For this layout, we made a classic and luxurious emblem with the letter L to serve as the monogram of the birthday celebrant. Sprayed with gold and some lighting adjustments, we have what looks like a modern-day queen's seal forged from gold. Using an elegantly patterned background, we put things together to come up with a neat and prestigious printout. Was this the initial layout? Definitely not. We take every client's inputs and adjust accordingly. We give recommendations but, ultimately, we provide the customer a final product that favors their preference.

This particular photo booth rental had a custom tarp backdrop included in the package. The backdrop exhibited the monogram. Much of the set-up blended perfectly with the venue that was being bathed with complementing natural light and a really gorgeous view of Taal Lake.

For those who ask about our studio-grade lighting configuration, the set-up includes two light sources. The key light, which is a compact fluorescent light diffused by a soft-box and positioned high above in front of the subject, provides the main source of lighting. The second is the fill light. It is diffused by a photographic translucent umbrella, positioned down under the key light to counter the harsh shadows under the nose and chin. This is the clam-shell lighting configuration popular among fashion photographers.

Here's the celebrant with the closest of ties, looking bright, lovely, and nowhere near fifty.

Here's a quick poem we share to all who turn 50:

By now you must have learnt That life is too fickle - You have to find your happiness And reasons to smile and giggle - By now you must have realized Life's too short to be finicky - Live each great day to its fullest Should be your motto at fifty - Happy birthday

We wish Mrs. Lani fifty more years of abundant joy, great life, and soon - grand kids, to bring laughter and cheer to you all your life.
